Review: Benefit Highbeam

So everyone uses a highlighter on their face, but what ones do it for you?
I really enjoy my Highbeam highlighter from Benefit, it really gives you a glowing, dewy look. This what we all strive for in a highlighter as I have found some just make me look a bit ridiculous. But I find this one is so perfect in giving me a nice and even sun kissed look like I constantly have the sun shining on my skin.

The one thing I really love about it is the fact It's a little like a nail varnish: with the way its in a little bottle with a paint like brush and applied to the areas needed. For some reason I just find it nice to use as it's so easily applied to your skin. With a little blending you are left with a healthy looking you.

                                                      What highlighters do you use?

Review: Laura Geller Tinted Spackle/Primer

Okay, so now this item is a little more I'd say on the more expensive side compared to some primers. However, as you can see from the image its a full 118ml which is an unbelievable amount that has lasted me since around Christmas last year. You can see just how much I've used since then and It's still lasted agessss! It may be a little pricey, but you do get your money's worth!
The thing I most love about Laura's Primer is that it's tinted. For pale-er complexions such as myself it makes my skin look a lot more healthy and dewy rather than like a ghost with no look of life to it. I have to also comment on the fact that when it goes on your skin it makes it seem ultra smooth and re-freshed. I just look the feel it has on my skin after it's applied!

Down to the Primer side of the product. Want a primer to make your make-up last? Well this does just that. If you have oily-er skin on certain areas (like I find I do on my cheeks and chin) It does keep most of the foundation and setter on, but only in those oily-er areas will it not keep it on obviously as that just cant be helped. So just re-apply a little to your oily areas and your all good.

So really it may be a little pricey, but it's like two products in one as It's a primer, but also gives some life into your skin making you look more healthy which is the look we want right?

Anyone tried Laura Geller's other make-up products?
Anyone have a cheaper alternative for a tinted primer?

Review: Sleek Contour Kit

For a while now I have been using the Sleek Contour Kit in light. I wasn't really one for contouring a few years ago, but now that I am older and more wiser with make-up, I guess (laughs to self) I've started to do contouring.

[Colour in light]

So I tried out the sleek contour kit, I found that the product is build-able as you may know from other posts I love when a product isn't too heavy that you are able to build upon the colour instead of the instant clown look! I found the product, didn't look too cakey on your skin as though you have a load of make-up on, it gave it the right amount to look almost natural like you do have cheekbones that prominent.

I chose my palette to be in light as I have quite fair skin. It gave my skin a naturally healthy glow to it. The colour is such a nice bronzey colour that really compliments fair tones by making you look like you have a bit of natural colour to your face whilst also of course making cheekbones and other places you choose to be more noticeable.

You also get a highlighter in the palette which I found that it gives you such a healthy glow and dewy look to the skin making you seem more awake. Of course it also gives you a more sun kissed look as it highlights where the sun hits your face.

Any recommendations on contour kits you use? Your thoughts?

Review:Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer

You may have seen many people go on about how amazing this concealer is. To be honest I have to agree with everyone who says this concealer is amazing as It is just that.... amazing!

I have used this concealer over a year now and there has not been many concealers I'd say that I totally love and would keep re-purchasing, but this one has a hold over me!

It is so good for hiding blemishes, bags under the eyes and any other imperfections you are trying to hide. It really does do wonders of hiding it all. I just cant get enough of using it, whenever I got to boots I will always buy about three or more of them as I like to stock up as I'm just using it all the time.

Also the price just draws you in it's so cheap compared to some concealers and to be honest I find it's my go to concealer over even the more expensive ranges of concealers! For just £3.99 you can have an imperfection free face with this little beauty in your make-up bag, bargain?

Anyone love this concealer as much as me? What concealer's are you loving?

Review: Revlon Photo Ready Pinched Cream Blusher

I've wanted to try the new Revlon blushers for sometime, but haven't been able to go shopping. So I finally got to go shopping and I just had to buy one! The one thing that bugged me was that they only have a selection of three. Maybe they are planning on bringing out more of a range (fingers crossed).

I got the blusher in the shade 'pinched'; its like a subtle bronzey/peachy sort of tone. I found the blush to be extremely creamy and nourishing which is good as some blushers/bronzer's can and do make your cheeks look dry. So I was quite pleased with how nourishing it felt and looked on my skin to be honest.

The colour is pigmented, but build-able. It's not like an instant pop of colour to the cheeks which I find doesn't really appeal to me. This is because I prefer to be able to build up colour rather than have a ridiculous look of too much blusher on my face which can make you look a bit like a clown and I'm sure no one wants to look that way?

Overall, I would buy another blusher from the Revlon Photo Ready Range, but as I said before I'd like for them to have a bigger range!

Anyone tried the other two shades, what do you think of them?

Review: L'Oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner

I've always wanted to find the perfect eye-liner that is like a Kohl, where its easy to apply. The only thing with Kohl eye-liner's are I find they are quite dry and just feel horrible to put on.

So I have found the perfect eye-liner that is easy to put on like a pencil, but has the most creaminess texture! I like that this brown eye-liner from L'Oreal isn't overly dramatic! As I find that for some reason black eye-liners just look ridiculous on me and make me look like a panda. So it gives you a more natural sort of subtle look! Which I think looks far better than the cakey and heavy black liners out there, it even lasts for ages.

One thing I really loved about this eye-liner is that you don't have to really rub it on your eye for the product to build up. With just one sweep of it, your eye has the perfect amount of liner on it!

On a last note, before I forget. This eye-liner has a smudge-er tip on the end! What more could you want from an eye-liner? I think I have found the perfect eye-liner for me, I will definitely be buying loads more of these liners!
[lashes left bare so you can see the eye-liner effect]

Can you see how nice the eyeliner glides on? Have you tried this liner?
 What were your thoughts?

Review: Lush lip scrub

From Left to Right; Bubblegum scrub and Citrus Pow Wow

I've had these two lips scrubs from Lush since Christmas now. I got them in my stocking and I can say that I use these all the time! (As you can see there's hardly a dent in them!)

In the winter months, these little beauties work such wonders! As soon as the product is applied to your lips, they make them instantly moisturised and smooth again by the use of ex foliating them with these little crystals.

Not only does it do that, they feel like popping candy on your lips which also gives a great taste to them, such as the bubblegum one which is absolutely delish!

Anyone else tried these out? what do you think?

Review: Mavala Double Lash Growth Serum

As you may remember back in June when I went to Florida I had a massive makeup haul post. Including in that was the Mavala Double Lash Serum.
[Lashes are bare with no mascara on, look at the length!!]

Its been a good few months I have used this serum for now and to be completely honest, I LOVE IT! I use it all the time before I go to bed, I have noticed such an incredible length and healthy look to my lashes. I will be re-purchasing this again when it runs out, but for the moment I still have like loads left. Its like an endless bottle of product which for £10 is a bargain!

The Mavala Double Lash Serum does everything you want in a lash growth product. Its much cheaper than those extremely pricey brands such as, Revita-Lash which is like £30. So if your looking for a cheaper alternative, I would definitely buy this one!

Lastly, its so easy to the lashes as it's exactly like a mascara brush where you just coat your lashes with it and not long after it is dry and you can just go straight to sleep.

Anyone else tried this before, your thoughts?

My Favourite Lippys

So this is a different type of post I'm doing today about my favourite lipsticks as you  may have guessed from the title.

     These are my favourite....
From Left to Right; Rimmel's moisture renew spotlight beige, Rimmel's Airy Fairy and Topshop's Desert

I've always been a big fan of the nude shade lipsticks. So these three are my go to that I always buy more of them whenever I run out and are always being used constantly. I just love nude shades!

What are your favourites? Any recommendations?

Review: V05 Weather Resistant Hairspray

I've had this for a little while now. I've heard many good things about this product, so i decided to try it for myself to see just how amazing this product is meant to be.
After applying the hairspray to my curly styled hair (using tongs) I found it did hold my curls for a longer length of time. Of course if it rains your hair will not stay curly. Because unfortunately the weather is against us, boo! So we can't stop it from ruining our just styled hair. However, I notice my hair doesn't look as much of a state as it normally does by the weather, it does keep in the curls, but they end up just wavy rather than curls. So I think I will definitely be re-purchasing this product as it's the best spray I have found that holds your hair style, it may change it a little due to the bad weather conditions, but it still looks dashing yaaay!

I would recommend this product though as in humid weather like we have had in England for a little while it does hold the curls in for an incredie length of time! They look exactly how they did when I first style it, no waviness or anything!

Also look how cute this travel size one is! I love the fact that on the go I can just chuck it in my bag if I needed a little touch up of the hair!

                                            Anyone else loving this hairspray?
Any hair-sprays you've found that are better?

Review: Rimmel Sun Shimmer water resistant instant fake tan

Lately I have been trying out and broadening my makeup/beauty products!

I decided at the beginning of August that I would try different brands and products etc. so I decided to try a new fake tan. You may have read my previous blog post from before where I raved about the garnier gradual tanner, as much as I loved it the thing that bugged me was that it would leave you feeling incredible sticky for a while & the morning after the fake tan smell would appear (hate that smell).

So I decided to try the new Rimmel sun shimmer water resistant tanner. I got my shade in light as I found the deeper one was far too dark for my complexion and would have made me look ridiculous. So I tried it out I have to say the drying time is sooo quick!! It's actually harder to keep up with rubbing it all in, in time!
It says that it's water resistant, not waterproof! So I tested it. Unlike the normal Rimmel sun shimmer it did run a little, but after dabbing it a bit with tissue I found there we're no streaks!! Wahey no more worrying over streaks.

The smell, let me tell you it smells so refreshing unlike any other tanner I have used it really did draw me in to try it. So If your looking for a none fake tan smelling tan then I think this is the one for you!
